David Robinson

I am originally from Montreal, Canada. I qualified as a New Zealand secondary school teacher in 1968 and taught in New Zealand, Australia and England.

I worked for 10 years as a Probation Officer where I specialised in working with long-term prisoners, with addiction issues and with residential rehabilitation facilities.

In 1984 I set up in private practice as a counsellor and specialist Court report writer. I began training as a mediator in 1986 and have worked specifically as a mediator (contracted to the Family Court) since 2004. I am an experienced family mediator. I continue to supervise family lawyers and other mediators. I also continue to work as a counsellor with individuals, organisations and agencies.

Since 2013 I have contracted to Fair Way as a mediator. I have also worked with parties preparing them to enter the mediation process.
