Arla is a Resolution Practitioner for Fair Way based in Whangārei, as well as a barrister.  She has experience conducting investigations and is a trained mediator.  Arla’s practice draws on her depth of experience in a broad range of civil and regulatory litigation and investigations. 

Arla places a high value on integrity and empathy in her practice.  She is valued for her clear, analytical thinking under pressure, alongside the ability to quickly build genuine and trusting relationships. She distills critical issues and facts efficiently from complicated situations and provides pragmatic solutions to often complex strategic and technical issues.

Having worked at law firms in New Zealand and the United Kingdom for over a decade, Arla became a barrister in 2020 and joined Kate Sheppard Chambers, a nationwide, virtual chambers of barristers.  She works for a range of clients across the country, including commercial entities, Crown entities, and community and Māori organisations. 

Arla grew up in the Hokianga and Whangārei, and alongside her practice and raising her young children, maintains a steady commitment to her local community, serving as as a trustee of the Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust and a member of the Board of Trustees for Kaurihohore School.
