Since completing the LEADR course in the early 1990s, Denise has been involved in many mediations which have involved Employment, Commercial Property, Relationship Property, Protection of Personal and Property Rights, Children’s care and contact, Shareholder disputes, Trust and Estate matters. She has also been appointed by the Family Court initially as Counsel to assist under the Guardianship Act 1968 and latterly under the Care of Children Act to conduct family meetings/mediation.
Denise is currently employed by FairWay as a Senior Resolution Practitioner and leads the Commercial and Private Dispute Resolution Scheme. She joined FairWay Resolution first as a contractor providing advice in the development of the Family Dispute Resolution Service which is now delivered by FairWay. She later became the Scheme Director of this service. Denise has been extensively involved in providing training for Family Dispute Resolution Providers through the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of the New Zealand and New Zealand Law Society (AMINZ).
She is a tutor in Massey University’s Dispute Resolution programme and has presented at a number of conferences and training workshops for new mediators.
Denise has had a long term involvement in Social Services through her participation in NGO Governance Boards and the Education sector.
Denise is part of the faculty for the NZLS/CLE Massey University Mediation for Lawyers, and a Fellow of AMINZ and has a Master’s Degree in Management (Conflict Resolution).
