Debbie Gee is an accredited mediator and a professional member of both the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand and the Resolution Institute. She has also attended the Tūhono Collective Māori Dispute Resolution wānanga.
Debbie has more than 30 years of experience as a senior public sector leadership, in central and local government and across a broad range of organisations and sectors. She holds BA from Auckland University and an MBA from Victoria University of Wellington, as well as a numerous project, programme and change management practitioner qualifications, in which she is also a certified trainer. She is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and serves on several non-profit Boards.
Debbie is of Ngāi Tahu/Ngāti Mamoe descent but grew up in South Auckland, engaging with diverse cultures.
As a mediator, Debbie’s focus is on connecting with parties in dispute to establish a safe, neutral environment in which honest, respectful dialogue can be held. She combines the soft skills of open listening, empathy, rapport-build and putting people at ease, with robust professional neutrality, impartiality, intellectual rigour and fair and open process.
