Hinemoa is Cultural Capability Lead and Senior Resolution Practitioner at Fair Way. She has broad experience in developing and providing culturally responsive services for te ao Maaori which is her passion.

Her whakapapa links on her father's side are Waikato – Tainui, Ngaati Hauaa me Ngaati Wairere. On her mother's side are Ngaapuhi nui tonu, Ngaati Hineamaru, Mahurehure me Ngaati Whakaue.

Hinemoa says that Fair Way’s practice philosophy of ‘kia tau’ which means to settle, to resolve, to calm resonates and explains that it’s a phrase she’s well used to from her own upbringing and the ongoing influence this still has within her whaanau and mokopuna.

In her own mediation practice, she has experience using tikanga and this approach in her mahi to assist people in navigating the conflict.

Hinemoa’s career has included 41 years as a public servant working for Social Welfare, Work and Income, Department of Labour and most recently with Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a Senior Employment Mediator. During this time at MBIE, her role involved building capability and capacity in te ao Maaori me ona tikanga. This mahi provided an end-to-end service for Maaori both internally and externally, and the learnings have been shared both nationally and internationally. Hinemoa was awarded Te Tohu Ratonga Tūmatanui o Aotearoa (the New Zealand Public Service Medal) in 2021.
