Hong Hu

Robert Hu is an associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators and a member of the Law Societies of New Zealand and Australia. With over 20 years of experience in general practice law in both countries, he specialises in commercial, property, family law, notarial services, and international trade. Notably, he is the first and only notarial lawyer from mainland China in New Zealand and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Colleges of Notaries.

He is dedicated to assisting homeowners, especially new immigrants, leveraging his deep understanding of both Asian and Western legal systems and cultures. His approach emphasises cultural sensitivity in resolving legal conflicts. His motto, "HU Cares!", highlights his commitment to his clients.

In addition to his legal practice, Hu has authored several books on mediation and arbitration in China and is currently pursuing a PhD at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi. He is fluent in English and Chinese, and speaks some te reo Māori. Outside of work and studies, Hu enjoys playing soccer.
