Rubeena Tapsell

Rubeena’s career is inclusive of role(s) within public and private sectors of Dispute Resolution.  She currently leads a team of Mediators covering South Island and Wellington regions at Building and Tenancy Services for Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).  Prior to her Management role, Rubeena’s Mediator expertise has enabled her to successfully undertake a broad-ranging caseload inclusive of Compliance & Regulatory, Body Corporate & Unit Titles and Tenancy & Healthy Home, mediations.   

Rubeena attributes career and life achievements to a number of factors including the respect she affords to her heritage which has inevitably contributed to the enrichment and diversity of the organisation and communities, served.  She also attributes achievements to her practice approach comprising the principles of manaakitanga (care and respect), whanaungatanga (relationship building) and dedication to nurturing an environment of collaboration and impartiality.

Rubeena resides in the Bay of Plenty township of Maketu where she shares  the wellbeing of seaside living and the comforts of community connection and cohesion, with whānau. These same ideals are woven into Rubeena’s  kete mahi (work-kit) as she continues to strive to provide support and enable fairness and equity in conjunction with legal expertise and experience.
